Leesha’s Lacquer: Fairy Dust and Loony Bin

Leesha’s Lacquer is about to release two new collections – The Enchanted Collection and one inspired by American Horror Story. Leesha was kind enough to send me one from each of the collections to swatch and test out, and I’m so happy she did.

Leesha’s Lacquer is a new-to-me brand, even though she’s been open for a year. Browsing her Etsy shop, she seems to have a lot of Crelly (Creme-Jelly) polishes, and a lot of really beautiful glitter polishes.

Fairy Dust
Fairy Dust is a multidimensional micro holographic topcoat.
Fairy Dust is the kind of polish that is right up my alley. It’s part of the Enchanted collection, and a jelly-glitter polish (named Jelliters by Leesha) that should be used as a top coat, but my glitter loving butt decided to use it until it was opaque. The pictures of the polish that you see are three coats of polish, and you can see in the photo below that it’s not fully opaque on some of the nails. Either way, the silver holographic glitter polish is absolutely gorgeous. I mean, do you see the light reflecting in the blurred nails above? Beautiful! As with all glitter polishes, this is an absolute pain to get off, but it’s worth it if you like glitters.

Loony Bin
Loony Bin, which is often what insane asylums were called, is a crelly with red, black and white glitter. This polish is also modeled after the promotional poster for the season.
I love American Horror Story. It was recommended to me during the second season – two episodes in. I downloaded the first two off of iTunes, then quickly devoured them. Then I saw the first season on Netflix. Yep, hooked. I wasn’t too much of a fan of Coven, and I’m really enjoying Freakshow right now. Leesha sent me Loony Bin – inspired by the promotional picture of a white nun with black liquid flowing down her face from her eyes. As white is the main focus in the poster, it’s the main color for this polish. There’s also black, red, and orange hexagonal glitter, with white and black small circles, and orange and white square glitters. The swatches you see are three coats.

An awesome thing about Leesha’s Lacquer is that she offers her products in mini sizes (which is what I received). Because I have no chance of finishing a nail polish that’s not a top coat or base coat, I prefer to buy minis if at all possible. So here’s the pricing:

Mini: $3.50 for 5 mL
Full size: $7 for 12 mL

I’m not too sure when these are going to release because Leesha is having a few personal things going on, so you’ll need to keep an eye out on her Facebook for the official release date.

Another thing I really like about Leesha’s Lacquer is while browsing the store, there’s SO MANY purple options. If you haven’t worn out your Black Friday funds, Leesha’s Lacquer is offering a free full sized limited edition polish with all orders over $25 until Cyber Monday.

You can find Leesha’s Lacquer on her Etsy site here and Facebook.
